Vanity (a.k.a. Denise Katrina Matthews) was known as D. D. Winters Vanity before she met Prince. She was a model in Canada.

She was in a Canadian film production called 'Tanya's Island' in 1980.

Then she met Prince and was eventually put into a creation of his known as Vanity 6, (with Brenda Bennett and Susan Moonsie) and the rest is music history.

Vanity 6|Brenda, Vanity, Susan Vanity definitely had a reputation for being a nasty girl, but she did have a sexy career before she crashed and burned due to hard drugs. In the mid-1980's she stared in 'The Last Dragon' '52 Pickup' and 'Action Jackson'. In 1985 Black Entertainment Television's (BET) Video Soul voted her their favorite female video artist. Also in 1985 she did a nude photo spread for Playboy magazine and she did another layout in 1988. In 1986 Vanity was in the film 'Never Too Young To Die'. She was in other movies after those but they were non-theatrical releases (straight to video market).
